Skalli Essentials kohl applicator is the perfect tool for achieving sultry eyes when paired with our Moroccan Kohl. Made from sustainably sourced sheep horn, this applicator is gentle on the waterline and allows for controlled application.

The tapered tip of the applicator allows for precise application, particularly when working on the waterline. This applicator fits comfortably in between your fingers. Sheep horn applicators are a great alternative to wooden applicators that can chip and irritate the eyes. It also has a cooling effect on the eyes and is known for its durability.

Why is the Kohl Applicator made from sheep horn instead of wood?

Sheep horn is the traditional material for Moroccan Kohl applicators because it is naturally smooth, non-reactive and holds the powder well. Unlike wood, it does not chip or splinter near your eye, and it has a cool, comfortable feel on the waterline.

Is the sheep horn ethically sourced?

Yes. Our applicators are made from horns of sheep raised for food, not bred or harmed for their horns. Each one is handmade by artisans in Morocco.

Is the applicator easy to keep clean?

Wipe it with a damp cotton swab or tissue after use and keep it somewhere clean and dry, ideally in your Kohl pouch. About once a week, clean it with a little alcohol and let it dry completely before using or storing it again.

Can I buy a replacement applicator for my Kohl Set?

Yes, this is the same sheep horn applicator that comes in our Moroccan Kohl Set, so it is a perfect replacement if yours gets lost or broken, or if you want a spare.

Will it feel comfortable on my waterline?

Yes. Sheep horn is naturally smooth and glides along the waterline without scratching, and it will not splinter the way a wooden applicator can. Each one is handmade and unique.
